.G Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC - Magnum
The unruly king of Monferrato
Renowned for its complexity in vinification, Grignolino is the quintessential Monferrato grape variety: the first to be documented in Piedmont in the distant year 1246 in a rental contract. Its fierce, rebellious, and stubborn character faithfully reflects the spirit of our people. Even the name of the variety itself is controversial: some believe it derives from "grignole" meaning grape seeds, others from "grignè" meaning to laugh. Our Domenico Ravizza decided to call it .G: a dot that serves to bring attention to the native variety. On the nose, our .G presents itself with aromas of dog rose, white pepper, and fresh red fruits. The palate is elegantly mineral, fresh, and pleasantly tannic
