RUBELLO | Monferrato DOC Rosso | Box
The unconventional Monferrato
The wine takes its name from Monte Rubello, a place where, in the 14th century, the millenarian preacher Fra Dolcino fought a fierce battle that still today symbolizes the clash between reformers and conservatives. While the name originates from a place of conflict, our Rubello is instead a wine of encounters: that between Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Nebbiolo grapes. The wine was born from the intuition of Carlo Cassinis and was greatly loved by Luigi Veronelli, who often cited it as a great example of the excellent viticulture of the Monferrato region. A blend of tradition and innovation, it gives life to a red wine with a deep ruby color, which expresses notes of red fruit and spices on the nose. On the palate, it is soft, round, with an elegant tannin and a persistent finish.
Pairings
A wine with a thousand variations that lends itself to ranging from lamb roasted with aromatic herbs to Peposo all'Impruneta, kofta (Middle Eastern meatballs), sfilati with black pepper fondue, to Genovese-style Neapolitan pasta.
